District moving forward with diversity, equity and inclusion efforts
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
The mission of Centerville City Schools Diversity, Equity and Inclusion team is to empower our community of learners with knowledge, skills and empathy to effectively engage a diverse world.
The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Team has developed a District Diversity Plan which includes the following goal areas:
- Develop an awareness of one’s own cultural lens, diverse perspectives, and inequities in education and society.
- Increase community engagement and parental involvement.
- Recruit and retain staff from underrepresented racial and ethnic populations.
- Remove barriers that impede the engagement of all students in curricular and extracurricular activities.

Georgeanna Wright - Art & Design Teacher
Ellie Ellis - Math Teacher/Principal Designate
In addition to the district team members, task forces consisting of staff from diverse roles in the district have been formed under each goal area.
