Some 'Senators' propose bill, and several others speak about why they are in support of or against it while others suggest amendments to the bill.

Government classes at Centerville High School have been conducting a U.S. Senate simulation over the past several days. Each student represents a senator and was assigned to one of 12 committees. Those groups researched bills related to their committee, and then chose one bill to present to the entire Senate.

For example, one of today’s bills focused on endangered species. One senator read a proposed bill, and several others spoke about why they are in support of or against it while others suggested amendments to the bill.
