2022 TRAVEL TO GREECE, SOUTHERN FRANCE, and IRELAND-SCOTLAND ENROLLMENT HAS EXPLODED! I guess we ARE ready to Travel again! Our Greece trip is almost at the level for a private tour group-- let's get a few more and lock that in! We have travelers enrolled for the South of France and the 12-Day Ireland and Scotland, all now in Summer of 2022. CHS TRIP TO FRANCE - SPRING BREAK 2022: Travel from the WWII beaches of Normandy – to sparkling Paris – to the glorious Loire Valley – to the Sunny South of France! Our first 16 participants have registered, but there are still plenty of spots for YOU to join us on this amazing adventure next year! SUMMER READ: Did you miss the deadline to pre-order a copy of the summer read book, The Other Wes Moore, but still need to get one? Then you're in luck! The CHS Library has extra copies that you can purchase for $10.00. Please bring $10.00 in cash to the Library at any time during school hours to get your copy before they are gone. CLASS OF 2021 - WALKWAY OF CHAMPIONS: Do you want to leave your legacy on a brick in the Walk Way of Champions leading to the football field? If you have earned a Varsity letter any time while at CHS, please fill out the application that can be found HERE and the cost is $75.00. The deadline for all applications to be given to the athletic office by Friday, June 11th, 2021 to be assured the brick is installed for the 2021 football season. CHS/MS GIRLS TENNIS: All girls interested in trying out for High School or Middle School tennis, please visit CentervilleTennis.com and follow these steps: Fill out the Info Form at the following link: https://tinyurl.com/3y2cvdud Fill out and turn in all required Tryout Forms to the Athletic Office ASAP. The following forms need to be completed, submitted to the Athletic Office, and cleared by the athletic training staff before any prospective player can attend tryouts. To ensure enough time for the process, please have all forms submitted by ASAP to the Athletic Office. HS Open Courts: June 14, 15, 16; 1pm-3pm (June 17 is a rain date for any of the 3 days) July 28, 29, 30; 9am – 11am (July 31 is a rain date for any of these 3 days) HS Open Courts are held at the CHS Courts HS Try-Outs, Start Aug 1, 2021, 2pm-5pm, held at CHS Courts Aug 2 – Aug 5, 7am-noon and 6:30pm – 8:15pm at CHS Courts Tryouts will last a minimum of three sessions and continue until teams are set. Try-outs and Practices continue Aug 2 – End of the season, and current known times can be found on the MASTER CALENDAR.

GUIDANCE DEPT NEWS
PHARMACY CAMP, ONU: We are pleased to let you know about our 14th annual Pharmacy Summer Camp. This year, we will be providing two different dates to choose from - June 20-23 or July 25-28, 2021. This overnight camp is open to any high school student who will be a junior or senior in the Fall of 2021. For seniors, one of the benefits of attending camp is that they will be given the opportunity to interview for our program on the last day of camp. The two camps will be held on the campus of the University of Findlay. All meals and snacks will be provided through the University of Findlay dining services. Each camp has availability for 50 students on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration is open now. Students who have registered may request a refund up until June 14th. The College of Pharmacy faculty is looking forward to meeting potential future pharmacists! If you know of any high school students who are looking to better understand the pharmacy profession and our pharmacy program, please let them know about this exciting opportunity! ESSEX AT ASHLAND: Essex at Ashland is an opportunity for rising gifted identified high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors to spend a week with others from across the state of Ohio focusing on "Leadership & Change". The school started at OSU in 1976, moved to Otterbein University in 2011, and is now moving to a new home at Ashland University.
This June 20-25, school will be online using VirBELA (an online platform campus where participants are avatars and physically "move" in and out of classrooms, auditoriums, and recreational spaces such as playing soccer). MEDICAL NOTIFICATIONS
FOR STUDENTS WHO ARE ATTENDING IN PERSON LEARNING SUMMER PROGRAMS AT CHS It is important to note that if your student had medications during the regular school year and will need to have medication available for the summer that new health forms are required. New orders/care plans need to be received for the medications to be kept for summer school staff. Medications without renewal of orders/care plans will need to be picked up by parent. June 4, 2021 from 8am to 2pm is medication pick up day. Medications remaining in the clinic after June 11 will be discarded. If you are unable to pick up medications on June 4th contact CHS Clinic to arrange a time to pick up prior to June 11, 2021. Message from your School Nurse End of year medication pick up June 4, 2021 from 8am to 2pm is medication pick up day. If you are unable to pick medications on June 4, please call 937-439-3514 to arrange a time to pick up. Medications remaining in the clinic after June 11 will be discarded.
Attention Parents Class of 2022 Ohio law mandates that all senior students have two doses of meningococcal vaccine prior to entering the 12th grade, unless a parent or doctor exempt the student from the vaccine. If the first dose of meningococcal was given on or after the student's 16th birthday, the second dose is not required for his/her senior year. Please have your student immunized now if he/she has not receive these immunizations. Students who have already received these vaccines should immediately turn in their immunization record to the school clinic. Records can be submitted by email, fax, mail or brought to CHS Central Unit or CHS clinic. If you or your doctor feel that your student should exempt from this vaccine requirement, please provide the school nurse with a completed waiver form. You must specifically indicate MCV4 Meningococcal on the waiver form. The waiver form can be obtained from your school nurse or on Centerville City Schools website under forms/medical/waivers. BEL13VE SKILLS & SCRAMBLE CHARITY EVENT: A team of Centerville HS sophomores is hosting a charity golf outing at The Golf Club at Yankee Trace. The BEL13VE Skills & Scramble is June 6, 2021. They partnered with the PGA on the Skills "Drive Chip Putt" Contest. Prizes will be awarded for age and gender divisions, so lots of opportunities to win! (Youth, Teen, Adult, Senior categories) The charity supports spinal cord injury recovery. An autograph pin flag signed by PGA legends Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, Lee Trevino, and Jack Nicholas is up for Silent Auction. Raffle Prizes, Bill's Donuts, Patio Lunch, and Swag Bags are included! 2021 MILES FOR MARK 5K: The 2021 Miles for Mark 5k is coming up! Please sign up at speedy-feet.com to join our race at your own pace from June 4th-6th to honor Mark Andrew Kreusch. The MAK Memorial Fund is dedicated to helping children in the Dayton Area by donating to organizations like Shoes for the Shoeless, Victory Project, and Brigid's Path. All of the money raised through the 5k will go to giving back to the community and by signing up you will get a cool T-shirt.
