MEDICAL NOTIFICATIONS
Message from your School Nurse Ohio families and students have the opportunity to help reduce the spread of the Covid virus in our community and schools. Vaccines are now available for individuals age 16 and up. Based on what we know about Covid-19 vaccines, experts believe that getting the vaccine may keep you from getting seriously ill if you get Covid-19 and may protect people around you. For our school the vaccine is another tool to help us met our goal of returning to our regular schedules and in person learning. If you decide to have your student vaccinated, please provide the school nurse with the dates of the vaccine administration. Having this information in your student's health file could mean that your fully vaccinated student will not have to quarantine if exposed to a Covid positive individual. Your fully vaccinated student will still need to wear a mask while at school and maintain social distancing. The CDC website has guidelines regarding fully vaccinated persons is updated regularly. The Ohio Department of health website has information on how to sign up for vaccination clinics. At this time only the Pfizer vaccine is approved for individuals age 16 and up. Moderna and Johnson & Johnson's Janssen are for age 18 and up. Have a safe and enjoyable spring break!
PTO NEWS
CHS PTO NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT: As we all know, the Covid-19 pandemic has taught us to come up with new ways of doing old things. Our teachers and staff have worked extra hard this year and we'd like to do something special during Teacher Appreciation week. Please consider donating through our SignUp.com link or through our Amazon Wish List link at Amazon.com. We'd love for each teacher/staff member to receive one small gift this year (and we have A LOT of teachers and staff members!). You can help us achieve our goal.
Additionally, we continue to support our amazing students who have also had to adjust to an incredible amount of change, through our Elk Pride program. The Elk Pride program recognizes hard work, acts of kindness, generosity, leadership and other positive actions and qualities. We recognize that this year has looked very different from past years. It's been disappointing, but we want to remain a positive influence within the Centerville High School community. We have a small treat going out to all students soon. Remember, the strength of the herd is within each Elk. EPND!
