TIGER TUESDAY!
We want to celebrate welcoming back our In-Person students on Tuesday by encouraging everyone to show their Tiger Pride! Wear a John Hole shirt, or if you don't have one, any Centerville/Elks gear you have as we begin our first day back in the building since November. And for our remote students, we invite you to wear JH/Elks gear to your remote classroom. You are still John Hole Tigers!
EARLY SPRING CLEANING?
As we return to In Person learning, we are putting together a recess tub for each class to use on their assigned playground area. We are looking for donations of extra basketballs, footballs, soccer or four square balls to add to classroom tubs. We will try to keep them with your student's classroom, but will also spread them around to other classrooms that may be short. Any donations should be in relatively good shape and will not be returned as we expect them to be thoroughly used :-). Thanks in advance!!
VOYAGER STARTING:
Our Voyager after school program will be starting on Tuesday, January 19th. If your child is signed up they will be staying after school starting on Tuesday. We still have openings here at John Hole for students to attend Voyager. If you are interested, you can find the application on the district website or you can call the JH office at 937-434-0725.
TECHNOLOGY REMINDERS/UPDATES:
From our Technology Department:
Students are expected to bring their school issued Chromebook to school with them each day. We can provide loaners when a student has a broken or malfunctioning district owned Chromebook. Unfortunately, we don't have enough devices to provide to students if they forget to bring their device with them to school.
It is best if the Chromebook is charged at home overnight and brought to school fully charged each day.
We recognize that Chromebooks traveling back and forth to and from school can increase the potential for damage. Here are a few tips to keep them protected:
- Please use the protective sleeve we provided to protect the Chromebook in transit.
- Please don't place the charger in the sleeve, or on top of the Chromebook in the book bag as this is a factor in screens getting cracked. The charger should go in the backpack in a side pocket, or at the bottom of the book bag so the charger doesn't create extra pressure on the screen.
- Remote students can contact our Help Desk for assistance with their Chromebook. The direct phone number to the Help Desk is 937-281-3757 .
PTO MEETING DATE CHANGE:
Our first PTO meeting of the new year was scheduled for Tuesday, January 19th at 6:30 PM on Zoom. We will be holding the meeting on Thursday, January 21st at 6:30 PM. Please note the change on your calendars and we hope to see many of you there!
