News for October 19th, 2020 Hello PVS parents, We are happy to have our in-person students back at PVS and online for our remote learners today! As we start the second quarter we hope to get off to a great start with all students! We have been working hard to put plans in place to make this a successful start.
Morning Arrival: Please know that we are monitoring our drop off line. We have doubled the amount of staff opening car doors to help move the line more quickly. The last student in our drop off line entered the building around 8:25 today. Our school day begins at 8:10 however, students will not be counted tardy and are not missing instruction as we work to accommodate our morning arrival of students. Our teachers have a soft start to the day where their students can play with materials set out by the teacher or those items they are bringing in their individual baggies from home. This is how they start their day in the classroom while the teacher is taking attendance and lunch count.
We will continue to ask parents to arrive at 8:00 for parent drop off. Prior to that we hope to get buses in the lot. If you are dropping off, it would be best to come from Spring Valley and Paragon so that you can get in the line without blocking buses entering the lot. There are two lanes for vehicles to enter the PVS campus. Please keep the left lane open so buses can pull in.
We would also ask that you have your child sitting on the passenger side of your car so that they can exit onto our sidewalk and not into the traffic lane. It's best if children are ready to exit the car from the passenger side once our staff opens the door without the parent getting out of the car. Children should be dressed and ready to enter the building when you pull up to drop them off. This will help us keep our line moving quickly. THANKS for helping to make this process move along as efficiently as possible!!
Halloween Goodie Bags: If you are helping make Halloween Goodie Bags for a PVS classroom, please make sure you are in communication with the other parents that are helping to coordinate so that items going into the bags can be dropped off at volunteers homes, assembled there and brought to PVS before next Tuesday, October 27th. We will let baggies sit in the teacher's tubs for a few days before handing them out to children to bring home. There are still a few preschool teachers that do not have volunteers for goodie bags – Mrs. Bailey, Mrs. Zugelder, Miss Girouard, Miss, Wood and Mrs. Miller. If you would like to volunteer to help one of our preschool teachers, please email them directly.
October and November breakfast and lunch menus.
Box Tops: We need your help! Do you have clipped Box Tops laying around? If so, you can now submit them directly to Box Tops For Education to earn money for our school. Due to the modifications needed to be made because of COVID-19, parents are being asked to submit their clipped Box Tops to be included in our fall earnings. Please remember to check expiration dates as expired Box Tops will not be accepted. Expiration dates 11/1/2020 and later will be accepted. When possible, bag groups of 50 in a baggie and label "50". Otherwise, label the bagged Box Tops with the appropriate count. You will then need to complete the submission form found at www.BTFE.com/submit. Additional instructions can be found on the Box Tops for Education webpage as well as the attached flyer. Please contact coordinator Christine Davis christinedavis.pamperedchef@gmail.com with any questions. Thank you for your help!!
Please remember to download the Box Top App as participating companies continue to transition away from clipped Box Tops and move into solely digital submissions using the App.
