News for Oct. 18, 2020 FROM THE PRINCIPAL
IMPORTANT MESSAGE ABOUT RETURN TO SCHOOL!
Tomorrow we welcome 453 students back to the building for In-Person Learning.
We will also be moving to a new schedule with 131 of our students who will stay in Remote Learning.
We have been working very hard on our distanced seating charts, class exchange protocols, and cleaning protocols.
We need your help in one area.
Please keep your child home if he or she exhibits any signs of illness.
It is best to err on the side of caution.
Your child can always join in remotely.
If you have any questions or doubts regarding possible exposure or anything related to COVID-19 please call us before sending your child to school.
We have done our best with distancing, but- with some classes at 22 In-Person students- seats are not all 6 feet apart in many of our classroom settings and in our lunch settings.
Positive cases will definitely result in 14 day quarantines for close contacts; defined as students and staff in 6 feet or less of proximity for a duration of 15 minutes or more.
We all need to work together to keep everyone safe and to keep everyone in school as much as possible.
Again, do not hesitate to call us with any questions or concerns, and do not hesitate to keep your child home if necessary.
If your child is not well but can do the work, he or she can join us remotely and it will not count as an absence.
Thanks so much for your attention to this extremely important parent and guardian responsibility. It is crucial to successfully and safely reopen our schools.

(In Person students interested in school pictures must have their picture taken during the school day. Remote Learners interested in school pictures must have their picture taken in the evening.) We will also schedule a picture re-take day for students who are absent. Ordering details to follow.

Parent Early Pick Up and Dropping Off Items
If you need to pick up your child early for an appointment, please stay in your car and call the school. We will get your child out of class and send them out to you. If you are returning a child to school following an appointment, you can just drop them off with their note.
If your child has forgotten items that you need to bring to the school, their will be a table on the porch with sticky notes. Please label the items and leave them on the table. Ring the bell, and someone will come out to retrieve the items.
Student Information Sheets
Each year, our schools ask parents/guardians to update the student information we have on record. This year we are completing this process online, and parents/guardians should receive an email this week from our Technology Department (sender is notify@centerville.k12.oh.us). Please check your child's information carefully and update phone numbers, email addresses, emergency contacts and more.
It is very important that we have this updated information as soon as possible. If you have any trouble accessing or filling out the form, please call the school and we can help.
Please think through your travel plans when deciding whether or not to drive your child to school. The construction that is happening in front of the school is not projected to be finished until late Nov and will impact parent drop off and pick up. If your child spends less than 15 minutes on the bus, that would not be considered an exposure risk. We will be unloading busses as soon as they arrive so students will not be sitting on the bus in our lot.
