FROM THE PRINCIPAL
The End Of First Quarter
Friday, October 16th marks the end of the first Quarter. Please check your child's HAC to see if they have any outstanding work that needs completed.
Related Arts Rotation #2 October 15
When students return to school, they will be reporting to their 2nd Related Arts Rotation on their schedule.
P.E. Locker Rooms
Students who have P.E. for their 2nd Related Arts Rotation, will not be changing clothes in the locker rooms. It is recommended that students dress in casual clothing and gym shoes on the days they have gym. Backpacks will be stored in the Gymnasium Area while the students participate in the class.
Remote Learning Upcoming Schedule
For families that have chosen to stay on Remote learning, there will be Zooms only on Tuesday of next week. Work for the rest of the week will be posted in Google Classroom.
Starting Monday, October 19th, remote learners will follow the new block schedule listed below. They will ZOOM at the beginning of each class period as before. The length of the session will be determined by the teacher.
Please note.....
• Students will follow the same A Day/B Day/Wednesday schedule as our in person students.
• Remote learners should enter the ZOOM at the beginning of each class period. Please wait in the waiting room as it may take teachers a few minutes longer to open up the session.
Pick up and Drop Off Protocols
Please think through your travel plans when deciding whether or not to drive your child to school. The construction that is happening in front of the school is not projected to be finished until late Nov and will impact parent drop off and pick up. If your child spends less than 15 minutes on the bus, that would not be considered an exposure risk. We will be unloading busses as soon as they arrive so students will not be sitting on the bus in our lot.
Drop Off Updated!
• The doors will not be open until 8:35. Please have your child remain in the car until then. It is possible that we may have to keep the lot closed to cars until a certain time. This strategy will be used in the event parents show up too early and we cannot manage the car traffic and the bus traffic.
Pick Up
• Dismissal is at 3:35, however we will be doing a staggered dismissal so there will not be a large crowd of students on the front porch.
• Line up using the outside lanes first and then fill in the middle lane. Please pull up as far as you can to the end of the drive. You can also utilize the four parking slots at the exit.
• Please note that, at dismissal, we will stop front drive parent traffic two or three times to allow buses to move onto Franklin St. once they are loaded.
We are very concerned that there will be a larger number of parents picking up and dropping off their children. Please be patient and plan ahead- allow extra time for your commute as it may take longer to enter and exit our drive. You might even have to re-route yourself-driving past the building if you can't enter the lot and coming back in a few minutes.
The Centerville Police Department will be on site to help with traffic control. There is also the possibility that you will not be allowed to make a left hand turn out of Magsig at certain times of the day.
A to K Day and L to Z Day and Siblings
If you have siblings with different last names and would like them to come on the same day, please call the school as soon as possible to make the switch.
Health and Safety Reopening Information
A few key items to remember as we begin in person learning.
• Stay home if you are sick! You can Zoom into classes if you are at home due to illness.
• Mask up and Wash up. Wearing your mask correctly and washing or sanitizing your hands is important. Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the building.
You can click here for the Daily Home Screening Checklist and other important health and safety information.
Breakfast and Lunch Update
All Students are eligible for a free lunch. All students will receive a breakfast package to take home with them at the end of each school day. There will be more details coming concerning the free meals and our remote learners.
Chrome books
Students who currently have school issued chrome books should bring the chrome book(fully charged) and the charger and earbuds to school. Students who do not have school devices will be issued one when they return to school. More guidance will be out soon regarding those who are currently without school devices.
