DISMISSAL FROM CLASSES: Students will exit classes in a staggered fashion. Students will be reminded to social distance as they move to their next class.
COATS/JACKETS/HOODIES: Doors will be open periodically throughout the school day to bring in fresh air. Teachers will take students outside for learning and mask breaks. It is important that students have a coat, jacket, or hoodie as we experience cooler temperatures. Students will be taking their coats/jackets with them from location to location as they move during the school day.
TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION: Bus route information can be viewed on the Home Access Center. Transportation forms MUST be turned in if transportation is needed to a different location (babysitter, shared parent). Buses will only serve current address without form.
BREAKFAST & LUNCH: All Students are eligible for a free lunch. All students will receive a breakfast package to take home with them at the end of each school day.
SCHEDULES: For the soft opening days, and on October 19th, all students will begin the school day in 1st period. There will be advisory time, but it will not be at the beginning of the school day. We will review the daily schedule with students each day.
MY CHILD IS NOT RIDING A BUS: WHAT WILL DROP OFF/PICK UP LOOK LIKE: It is best to ride the bus if one has been assigned to you. The earliest drop off time will be 8:30 A.M. Dismissal will be staggered to avoid a crowd of students going to buses. Please be patient with this process! It will go slow at first, and no one should be in a hurry! Be respectful of school staff, students, and other members of the Watts community. There are over 20 buses, and a lot of other traffic to manage. Please review that traffic pattern map.
NO VISITOR POLICY: Due to COVID-19, we are limiting visitors inside the building. For things such as dropping off lunches or forgotten items, we will have a table set up outside the main entrance doors for you to mark and place the items. You will ring the bell and we will come out to retrieve the items and deliver them to your child. The nurse will come and pick up any medications from you directly at the main entrance. If you need to sign your child out/or pick them up early, you can remain in your car out front and call the office. We will call your child out of class and fill out the sign in/out sheet for you and send your child to the car. If your child is ill, you may be allowed to come in to attend to them and speak with the nurse, or the nurse may bring the child out to you. If you need to speak with Mr. Miller in person, you can buzz the front door and he will meet you at the main entrance.
HOW ARE YOU HANDLING LUNCH/RECESS?: We have organized the lunches by grade levels. There will be three lunch opportunities instead of two. We will utilize outside locations whenever possible. Students will be allowed to remove their mask when eating but must put it back on when finished even if the lunch period is not over. We will have students socially distance during recess. They can remove their mask while outside during recess as long as they remain six feet apart. Students will not have access to basketballs, footballs, or four square balls at this time.

A MESSAGE FROM THE SCHOOL NURSE: ATTENTION PARENTS & GUARDIANS: We are making every effort to be prepared as we transition to in person learning . If your student will require medication to be administered at school or an allergy, asthma or other specialized health care plan, please, contact your school nurse as soon as possible. Completed forms may be submitted electronically to the school nurse for review. After review, you will be contacted to schedule an appointment to deliver medication and or supplies. Please, make sure they include parent and physician signatures prior to submitting them. If your student previously had a plan on file, you should have already received the new forms for the 2020-2021 school year. Additional forms are available on the Centerville website under school health, if needed. If you have any questions/concerns please contact the school nurse, Melissa Becker @ Melissa.becker@centerville.k12.oh.us.
If your son or daughter is in 7th grade , he or she MUST have two vaccines required by the Ohio Department of Health or a signed waiver on file. 1. Tdap booster vaccine within the past five years (2014 or later) BEFORE the first day of school. 2. Meningococcal vaccine one dose BEFORE the first day of school. If your student received this dose at any time before , the requirement has been met.
These are requirements of the Ohio Department of Health. We know from past years that most of our current 6th graders have had the Tdap booster so all we need is the immunization date. The meningococcal vaccine is a relatively new requirement. * If you choose to waive these required vaccinations for your student, the attached signed waiver must be on file.
Attached is the form for parents to complete, as well as a listing of immunization options.

Thank you for your attention in this matter.
