Transitioning back to school buildings This week, we will be welcoming about 80% of our students back into school buildings, with approximately 20% continuing with remote learning. Just a reminder that we will have a two-day staggered start this Thursday and Friday to provide students who are participating in the in-person learning option a chance to review health and safety protocols with their teachers and adjust to being back together in school buildings.
Thursday, Oct. 15 -- K-12 students with last names A-K who are participating in the in-person learning option will attend school all day (kindergarten will be AM/PM). Preschool students with a disability will follow their current schedule.
Friday, Oct. 16 -- K-12 students with last names L-Z who are participating in the in-person learning option will attend school all day (kindergarten will be AM/PM).
On Oct. 15-16, school buses will be transporting students who regularly ride the bus. Live Zoom sessions will not take place Thursday or Friday (unless your child has heard otherwise from his/her teacher). Assignments will be uploaded to Google Classroom for those students who are in the other half of the alphabet as well as those who are continuing in the remote learning option. Please visit our Elks Back to School page for information and frequently asked questions and watch for details about second quarter from your child's school. DISTRICT NEWS & EVENTS Remember to look up bus info on HAC
Just a reminder that routine bus transportation to and from school will be available beginning Oct. 15, and bus routes can be found on the Home Access Center -- just log in and click on the Registration icon to see your child's pick up and drop off times and bus number. Please continue to check HAC regularly as your child's bus schedule could be updated due to enrollment changes.
More information about school transportation, including safety precautions, is available on our Back to School FAQ page.
