School Announcements
Dear Parents/Guardians, I hope you are doing well, and that you've had a good summer! During the summer months we have been developing plans for a number of learning scenarios in the 2020-2021 school year. With the announcement that Centerville City Schools will operate in a remote learning environment through at least the first quarter, the middle schools are now prepared to begin communicating plans for a successful start to the school year. We miss the students, and look forward to connecting with them soon! Sincerely, Clint Freese Principal

THE FALL LEARNING EXPERIENCE WILL LOOK DIFFERENT THAN THE SPRING:
The feedback from parents, staff, and students indicates that there is an expectation that student learning must look different than experiences from the spring. For the fall, students will be following a daily school schedule, be accessing the classroom daily via Zoom, and Google Classroom will be the learning hub.
It is important to know that students will not be in a Zoom meeting during the entire school day. During the assigned class time, students will participate for a portion of the time via Zoom. There will be grades and attendance. Additional details will be shared in the parent/student Zoom meetings.
ORIENTATION VIDEO:
An orientation video for all 6th graders and students new to Centerville City Schools will be shared on Monday, August 10th. On Thursday, August 13th, we will be hosting optional Zoom meetings for parents and students to ask questions regarding the orientation video. Times and Zoom links will also be shared Monday, August 10th. Returning 7th and 8th graders are welcome to watch the video. Zoom sessions can be accessed via personal laptop or smartphone.

PARENTS OF ALL INCOMING TH 7TH GRADERS: TDAP BOOSTER:
If your son or daughter will be entering 7th grade in the fall of 2020, he or she MUST have two vaccines required by the Ohio Department of Health 1. Tdap booster vaccine within the past five years (2015 or later) BEFORE the first day of school. 8/19/20.
2. Meningococcal vaccine one dose BEFORE the first day of school 8/19/20. If your student received this dose at any time before 8/19/20, the requirement has been met
These are requirements of the Ohio Department of Health. We know from past years that most of our current 6th graders have had the Tdap booster so all we need is the immunization date. The meningococcal vaccine is a relatively new requirement.
If your son or daughter has NOT yet had their Tdap booster and/or meningococcal vaccines and you are concerned about getting them, parents in Ohio do have the option to sign a parental waiver for immunizations. It is hoped that when you are comfortable getting the vaccines that you will have your child get the recommended immunizations. By signing the waiver now, it will make your child compliant for school immunization requirements in August.
Please click here and here for the forms to fill out. 1. Complete Seventh Grade Vaccination Requirements if your child has had the above immunizations or, form
2. Complete Parental or Medical Waiver if you have waiving immunizations at this time. Check the Tdap and/or MCV4 Meningococcal Immunizations as appropriate. Only the parent signature is needed. form
