Stingley named Ohio School of Character

Character.org, a national advocate and leader for character in collaboration with the state of Ohio, named Stingley Elementary a 2018 Ohio School of Character. The program recognized Stingley as a school that has demonstrated its use of character development to drive a positive impact on academics, student behavior and school climate. Read more

DISTRICT NEWS

District names new transportation supervisor
Centerville City Schools has named Andy Trick as the district's transportation supervisor. Trick, who has been serving as the district's assistant transportation supervisor for the past four years, has a bachelor's degree in education from Bowling Green State University and has worked in public and school transportation for 13 years. He will replace George Sontag Jr., who will retire this summer after 57 years in public education, with the past 25 years as Centerville's transportation supervisor. Read more

Homeless Children and Youth Program
The McKinney-Vento Education of Homeless Children and Youth Assistance Act is a federal law that ensures immediate enrollment and educational stability for homeless children and youth. The purpose of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Children and Youth Program is to ensure that all children and youth, including preschoolers, have equal access to the same free and appropriate public education, as non-homeless children and youth. Centerville Noon Optimist Annual Egg Hunt
[Grades PreK-5] Come Join the fun!! The Centerville Noon Optimists will be holding their 6th Annual Egg Hunt on March 31. The Hunt will be held at Forest Field Park and will begin at 10 a.m. - rain or shine. Ages 2-4 / 5-7 / 8-9. Come join us!

[Grades PreK-5] The Easter Bunny is coming to the Rec Center on March 23! We will have an egg hunt in the gym at two different times along with prizes, snacks and pictures. Little ones will also get to play on our preschool gym equipment! Cost is $8 per child.
