School Play
Students spend approximately one third of their day at school – learning all sorts of academic lessons in addition to developing habits that will carry into their futures. But school is also an important place for learning what it means to be human. Students are faced with all sorts of challenges and opportunities, and Magsig's winter play, Yearbook, explores what happens to a group of students in a year. Sports, theatre, fund raisers, clubs, and academics all combine to give an honest picture of life for students. This fun, funny, and poignant production invites all audiences to reflect on their school years and their lasting impact.
Magsig Middle School is proud to present Yearbook by Stephen Fendrich. Performances are January 28 and 29 at 7pm. Admission is $5 for general seating.
Please contact Mrs. Melissa Stamm if you have any questions (Melissa.stamm@centerville.k12.oh.us)
PSAT Informational Night We are excited to have Dr. Rashida Savage from the College Board coming to Magisg Middle School on Thursday, February 13, to help students and parents interpret the PSAT results from the middle school fall testing. Dr. Savage will also share many of the resources available to students and families through the College Board. This informational night is recommended for all parents whose students took the PSAT in the fall. The meeting will start at 7pm. Parents and students are encouraged to bring their results from fall testing.
ATTENTION PARENTS OF ALL CURRENT 6TH GRADERS!
If your son or daughter will be entering 7th grade next year, the Ohio Department of Health requires two vaccinations in addition to those your child received prior to school entry. 1. Tdap booster vaccine within the past five years (August of 2015 or later), BEFORE the first day of school. 2. Meningococcal vaccine BEFORE the first day of school. If your student has had one dose of this vaccine at any time AFTER age 10 and prior to August 19, 2020, this requirement has been met. These are requirements of the Ohio Department of Health. We know from past years that many of our sixth graders receive these immunizations at wellness checks and routine appointments. We do NOT need official documentation from the doctor's office, but welcome any copies of immunization records that you provide. Attached is a form that can be completed by the parent or guardian, as well as a listing of immunization options. Please complete this form and submit to the office or clinic. The state of Ohio does allow for a parental waiver for those who choose to not vaccinate their children, and a medical waiver for those children who cannot safely be vaccinated due to medical conditions. Attached is a copy of the waiver form. This information must be on file by the first day of school, August 19, 2020. Please call or email with any questions.
