COLLEGE CREDIT PLUS: Any student who would like to participate should have their parents attend the CC+ informational meeting: on Monday, January 13th @7PM in the PAC.
SINCLAIR SCHOLARSHIPS: Attention seniors. If you might be attending Sinclair Community College next year, scholarships are available ranging from $2,000 - $3,000 per year. The priority deadline for applications is December 15th. Students can apply by clicking the red "Apply Online to Scholarships" button and entering their Sinclair username and password. Career Technical students are encouraged to apply for these scholarships as well!
OST REVIEW SESSIONS: if you registered for the OST review session, they are being held after school this week from 3:15 to 4:15
ELKS ORNAMENTS: Looking for a special Christmas gift for your favorite Elk? CHS Varsity Hockey is selling limited edition "Elks Ornaments" this season! They are the perfect souvenir from your Centerville High School days. Each handcrafted ornament can be personalized: Graduation Year, Name, Jersey Number, Club, Music Notes, Cheer Team, Sport, PB Race Time, Christmas 2019, and much more! Elks Ornaments are sold online. CLUB ACTIVITIES & MEETING
BLACK STUDENT UNION: The Black Student Union meets on Tuesday, December 10th after school in C170, Mrs. Valley's art room from 3:15 to 4:15. This is a space for everyone to embrace and discuss black culture and celebrate black excellence. We're a club for everyone and anyone who wants to come. Bring your friends!
GIRL POWER CLUB: Girl Power Club meets every Friday in C170 (Mrs. Valley's Art Room) from 3:15-4:15 PM.
BOOK CLUB: Attention CHS Book Club members: We will meet December 3 to discuss Samira Ahmed's Internment. See you at 3 pm in South 260!
ART CLUB: The December meeting is this Thursday, (Dec 5) from 3-4 PM in C160. Please join us for a fun and festive time. See Mrs. Wright if you have any questions or concerns.
SKI & SNOWBOARD: Attention Skiers and Boarders: Perfect North has opened! If you ordered a pass through the CMS Ski and Rider Club it will be ready for pick up during our meeting outside Watts gym Monday December 9th from 8:30pm-9: 30pm. If you would like to confirm that your pass is available for pick up, as some passes will need to be picked up at PN if an updated photo is required, please email Julie.ashley@bestskiandriderclub.com. If you are unable to make it on the 9th please send an email and make other arraignments. Be advised that a few will need to have a waiver on file with PN before the pass is valid. If you or your friends did not order a pass this season don't be sad! Anyone can take advantage of single discount tickets! Simply visit our website www.bestskiandriderclub.com and on the Home page there is a banner and directions to click on for discount tickets. These tickets will save you up to $20 off regular prices and a small portion of the sale will support our CHS Alumni Senior Scholarship! Think Snow!

WINTER PLAY AUDITIONS: Auditions for the C.H.S. Theatre winter play, Around the World in 80 Days, are December 3rd and 4th. Pick up audition information and sign up for a time slot outside the P.A.C. office. Contact Mr. Hamen with any questions.

SCHOOL FEES: Parents: School fees and Winter Pay to Play fees have been added to your student's account. Payments can be paid online through your Home Access Center account, mailed or hand delivered to Centerville High School, 500 East Franklin Street, Centerville, OH 45459. Checks need to be payable to CHS and include student's name or student ID# on the memo line. If you have any questions please call the Bookkeeper at 937-439-3572.
CENTERVILLE EDUCATION FOUNDATION: Centerville Education Foundation supports innovative classroom projects- Find out if your student's classroom has been selected! Visit us at http://centervilleeducation.org to discover 33 unique and engaging classroom projects we hope to make a reality this year. While you're there, check out some of the donor prizes we are giving away. CLASS OF 2022: We have a full line-up of interesting presentations planned for you throughout this school year! See the schedule below and note that we have added a couple of evening meetings this year. We will communicate reminders each month but wanted to share the schedule with you so you can mark your calendars. All presentations will be held in the CHS PDC room. If attending a noon presentation, enter the school through the main doors and sign in at Security. Then proceed up the steps on the left side to the second floor. The PDC is the first room to your left. If attending an evening presentation, you will need to enter the building through the Athletic Entrance. Please RSVP for these presentations (or get added to the email list for updates) so we have an idea of how many will be in attendance. Contact Anjeanette Rettig or Sherry Temple with any questions.

Happy Holidays from your School Nurse The Holidays are often a time for travel for visits to loved ones or for vacations. The CDC provides some tips for safe travel and staying healthy during the holiday season. Make sure your vaccinations are up to date. Get the flu shot at least 2 weeks prior to travel to allow time for antibodies to develop in your body and provide protection. Stay away from people who are coughing or ill. Wash your hands often with soap and water. Talk to your health care provider about vaccination against Pertussis (whooping cough). Go to cdc.gov for more information about traveling safe.

ELK PRIDE ASSISTANCE NEEDED: Thank you to all who donated candy at the beginning of the school year. Your choices must be student favorites because we are almost out of all snack-sized candy items! We would certainly appreciate any donation. Click here to sign up.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: We are still looking for volunteers for various committees and events. If you are interested in helping with hospitality, Elk Pride, college and/or financial aid information nights, the College & Career Fair, Late Night at CHS (formerly known as After Prom), scholarships, etc., we'd love to hear from you! Feel free to attend a PTO meeting - they're typically held every 2nd Wednesday of the month, at 7 PM in the PDC. GREECE TRIP: Dreaming of sunny Greece? Come along in June, spending 3 days in Athens and 4 days cruising and visiting the islands! PVN FROSTY SHOP: CHS student volunteers are needed to help kids shop for gifts at the PVN Frosty Shop on December 7. Service hours will be given. Shopping is open from 10 am to 3 pm. Click here to sign up.
WOODLAND LIGHTS: Woodland Lights Volunteers & Workers Needed: It's the most wonderful time of the year and we need your help to spread the cheer! We are looking for volunteers and workers to help with the 27th season of Woodland Lights. Duties could include playing costumed characters (so fun!), helping take tickets, guiding people through the light show, etc. Grab a friend and help make this our best year ever!
