MEDICAL NOTIFICATIONS
MESSAGE FROM YOUR SCHOOL NURSE: The CDC is recommending that every 6 months or older get the flu vaccine by the end of October. The Flu vaccine has important benefits. It can reduce flu illnesses, doctor's visits, and missed work and school due to flu, as well as prevent flu-related hospitalizations. Flu vaccine also has been shown to be lifesaving in children. A 2017 study showed that flu vaccination significantly reduces a child's risk of dying from flu. There are many flu vaccines available this year. Your health care provider or vaccination specialist can inform you of the most appropriate option for you. Flu vaccinations are widely available at clinics, drug stores and from your health care provider. Make room in your schedule now to get the flu vaccine during October.
