ATHLETICS
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL: Thursday night allowed the Girls Volleyball teams a chance for the scenic drive to Morrow to play Little Miami High School.
The Freshman team led off the evening with a convincing straight set win 25-17 and 25-15. The JV Team followed that with another straight set win, 25-14 and 25-17.
The Varsity Girls took the court and went back and forth before pushing to a 22-19 advantage in the first set. LMHS called timeout and flipped the right switch as they came out and ran off 6 straight points to shock the Elks and take the first set 25-22. The Elks did slowly recovered from this and went back and forth in the second set. Again, the Elks took a late lead in the set but this time they were able to hold on and win the set 25-22. Sensing a bit of momentum Centerville pushed to an early lead in set 3 only to see it disappear. Looking like another back and forth set the Elks decided to announce their authority and closed the set on a 12-0 run to win 25-13. That set took the wind from LMHS as the fourth and deciding set was over early as Centerville won 25-6. All three teams are back in action on Monday afternoon when they travel to Mason to play the Mason Comets.
GIRLS TENNIS: Varsity Gold Tennis defeated Lebanon 5-0 on the road yesterday to pick up their 2nd win of the season. Milena Alappatt, Yuri Kim, Riley Fox secured straight set wins at Singles while Grace Jiang, Carmen Aliaga, Samira Dhaliwal & Harshitha Kosuri won at Doubles.
