As you are all aware there are many people in need in our surrounding areas following the Memorial Day storms. My husband and son were able to drive through some of these areas last week and were dismayed by the absolute devastation. The stories of families who have lost their homes and belongings and don't have cars or the ability to get to shelters is truly unbelievable.
We would like to ask PVN families and friends to join forces to reach out and HELP OUR NEIGHBORS. There will be multiple ways to help but here are a few:
*PVN will be collecting items to deliver to Rogers Funeral Home in Trotwood for distribution. You may drop items off at PVN from Monday, June 3 through Wednesday June 6 between 9 and 2. PLEASE NOTE: Our building is having extensive water line work done so you will need to drive around the back of the school (under 675) to the trailer that is located out back. Please call the school at 438-6062 and we will come out to help you unload. Here is a list of items requested:
Toilet paper Paper towels Dish soap Laundry Detergent Fabric Softener Dryer Sheets Dish rags Kitchen Towels Bath Towels Wash Cloths Shampoo and Conditioner Body Wash Toothbrushes (adult and children) Toothpaste Hand Soap Hand Sanitizer Snack items for children: juice boxes, apple sauce, individual fruit cups, granola bars, fruit snacks, etc... Kids underwear and socks Women's underwear and socks Men's underwear and socks Diapers of all sizes Baby Wipes Clorox Wipes Tarps and bungee cords (to protect "open homes" from rain) **I am certain any donations will be welcomed and accepted!
*Some of us will be going to Shiloh Church (5300 Philadelphia Dr.) tomorrow (Sun. June 2) at 11:30 a.m. to feed 2500 people in need. We will be preparing and serving meals and possibly delivering meals. If you can come, consider bringing a side like individual chip bags, store bought and wrapped cookies, fruit snacks, etc...to add to meals. Please note: The church is on the corner of Philadelphia and Main St. Main St. is closed due to safety so please go down Philadelphia. Please feel free to contact PVN parent Jane Young at youje7@hotmail,com for details or to learn about more ways to get involved!
We will be organizing another donation effort at the beginning of July, more details to follow!
Thanks for your support!!!
