School Announcements Attention 8th Grade Parents: if you are interested in viewing the 8th Grade memory video for the Class of 2023, please send your email address to Beckie Hulings: beckie.hulings@centerville.k12.oh.us. The video will be on a closed Youtube channel and the only way to view it is to have the link which I will email you about two weeks after school is out. You will also be invited to view and download (if you want) the pictures used in the video. The pictures have been taken through out their time at Tower Heights.
8th Grade Dance Guidelines **The annual 8th grade dance will be held on the afternoon of Wednesday, May 29th.
The 8th grade dance is a special occasion, for 8th grade students, to celebrate their three years at THMS before moving on to the high school. We want this to be a nice afternoon for the students to look back on fondly when you are in high school.
A couple of points to remember: Ø This is an 8th grade dance, NOT a prom! The students will have that to look forward to in high school. Ø Students will be allowed to bring cameras! Ø While many of the 8th graders choose to be a little dressier that day they may still wear regular school attire.
Ø Boys o No tuxes! o Ties can be worn o Khaki/dress pants and a nice shirt are what the guys usually wear
Ø Girls o No formals! o Spaghetti straps and strapless dresses may be worn, but must be covered up until the dance starts. o No backless dresses or tops o No cut-out dresses o If your dress does not meet the school dress code then during the school day before the dance you will need to wear a sweater, or wrap, something to cover up. o Please be appropriate, it is still school.
We strongly encourage students to come to school dressed for the dance. The recognition assembly in the morning is for them as well! We expect that students do not leave school at lunch to get ready. However, you may bring your clothes to school to change during study hall or lunch with permission to do so. No curling irons, etc. Students are expected to be at school ALL day

Students of the Week! If Family A teachers could duplicate this 8th grade student, it would probably be in a 3-D model with many movable parts. For three years, Carson Wells has made an energetic and imaginative contribution to all of our classes. His teachers have delighted in watching him mature and develop during his time at Tower Heights Middle School, and we wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors. Congratulations, Carson, may you keep drawing, creating, and designing, since the best is yet to come.
Family B is so proud of the hard work this student has put in over the last three years. When he came to America in the 6th grade, he was very limited in his English. His hard work to improve his English exemplifies the eighth grade character trait of perseverance. He works to help new ELL students get used to their school here at Tower Heights, and has volunteered at numerous cultural events in the district, and helped this past week at The World Affair in Dayton. In his free time he enjoys playing basketball with his friends and playing with his younger brother. Family B is very proud to announce Lintao Zhang as our student of the week. Good luck next year at CHS, Lintao.!
Family C would like to honor 8th grade student, Samantha Cutter. Samantha was new to Tower Heights this year. However, it didn't take long for Samantha to find her stride. She quickly made new friends and began making an impression on her teachers. Samantha is a hard-working student who always does her best on every assignment. She is always kind to her peers and respectful to her teachers. Awesome job, Samantha. Family C will miss you next year as you move on to the high school.
Punctilious. Scrupulous. Conscientious. All of the above…This week, Family D would like acknowledge a 6th grader who has shown consistent effort this school year. This student always completes her work and is kind. She is a great teammate and hard worker. Outside of school, she enjoys performing with the COED dance team. Family D would like to congratulate Ava Timmerman as this week's Student of the Week!
