Weller students and their parents shared a unique opportunity – reading together at school! The brainchild of Weller’s Literacy Support Teacher Kelly Gartz, parents were invited to bring a lunch to school, eat in their child’s classroom, and share a book and a game that guided their literacy discussion about the book. Here 3rd grader Mark Balonier is enthralled with the book his mom Dawn is reading. The turnout of parents was impressive and a wonderful testament to the support our students have at home. Read More

The program consisted of a 45 minute interactive assembly followed by hands-on activities that engaged the students and encouraged the development of Science Process Skills.
