CHS ENGINEERING PROGRAM RECEIVES $5,000 GRANT

CHS Career Education teacher Dan Stacy announced his Project Lead the Way engineering program received a $5,000 grant from the Society of Manufacturing Engineers Educational Foundation that will be used for a CNC rapid proto-typing machine to support the Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) program at CHS. The new equipment will allow students to experience real world engineering concepts used in designing and manufacturing proto-types. PLTW prepares students to be innovative and productive in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and to make meaningful, pioneering contributions once they leave school. Through an engaging, hands-on curriculum, PLTW encourages the development of problem-solving skills, critical thinking, creative and innovative reasoning, while also incorporating Mathematics and Physics principles. Questions regarding the CHS PLTW Engineering program, can contact Dan Stacy at 937-439-3580 or dan.stacy@centerville.k12.oh.us
