As the temperatures drop, please make sure your child has a winter coat, gloves, and even a scarf or hat. Also, please take a few minutes at home and have your child practice zipping his coat by himself, and remind him that it's a good idea to do this before putting gloves on. Please put your child's name somewhere on both gloves/mittens, or mark them distinctly in some way. It would also be helpful if you showed your child how to put these things away so they don't get lost (it's often helpful to roll up gloves together and put them in a coat pocket). The Michigan fans in our class are dismayed that Beat Michigan Week is upon us! In our class we'll spend a few days before Thanksgiving talking about the value of teamwork and cooperation, as well as the fun people have cheering for their favorite teams. We pass a thumbball in our morning meeting from time to time to get our bodies moving. The person who catches the ball looks where their thumb is, then performs that action. There are commands like "dance hilariously," "hit a home run," or "karate chop and kick." Most of the time we're cracking up by the end! Read More
