We are off to an exciting start! The children have been busy learning classroom routines and making friends. We are continuing to work on learning our new friends' names. We have made a list of our names, charted how many letters are in our names and sang "Happy Birthday" to each other using an interactive chart.

As a class, we have been discussing our five sense and how we  use them each and every day. The children have used their sense of hearing to count pennies being dropped into a can, their sense of touch to count finger taps on their backs, and their sense of sight to make color patterns using blocks. At dismissal, some children have been using their sense of smell to predict what the     first graders are having for lunch. Sometimes the children predict yummy things and wish they were first graders and other times  they are very happy to be going home:) Our next adventure will lead us outside to explore all of the changes going on around us and how as "scientist" we can use our five senses to learn more.
