Mrs. Rand's Class NewsletterWe are having a great year so far! September was a busy month learning how to play with others and by ourselves. We practiced good listening skills, following directions, and how to keep our classroom in good order. We discussed the importance of showing respect in everything we do. This aligns with the PVN Norms of Respect, Responsibility, and Citizenship. We also learned some new songs such as “Goin' on a Bear Hunt” and “Say Hello To All the Children of the World.” Encourage your child to teach you some songs we sing in school. We had our first field trip to Grant Nature Park. This sparked a lot of discussion about the leaves changing colors and what the animals at the park might eat. We also wondered where the animals sleep when it gets cold. (Our field trip day was a bit chilly.) Fall is here and along with the gorgeous foliage, the weather is also starting to change. Make sure your child has an appropriate change of clothes at school. Other items of interest . . . We get to visit the library every other Wednesday where we hear a story read by Mrs. Frysinger, the librarian, and then we are allowed to check out a book. The books have to stay in the classrooom. On the other Wednesdays, Ms. Johnson, the music teacher, comes to our classroom to teach us fun new songs. The students are enjoying the many Fall books found in the library and classroom as well as the signs of Fall outside. We will be exploring some of their interests throughout the season. REMINDER – Please ensure your child has appropriate shoes and clothing for playing outside. We will go outside every day possible, weather permitting. Also, please make sure your child wears clothes to school that help foster independence when using the restroom. The classroom Fall Party is Thursday, October 28.
