Our students were asked to think about the ways they feel "lucky" and the results were amazing. Over a hundred statements came together to make this bulletin board in our front hallway. Normandy students learned about one of our "Words of the Quarter," CREATIVITY, during our March Community Meeting. We are creative when we take risks, challenge ourselves to learn something new, and allow ourselves to be curious about new topics. OHIO ROCKS! MUSICAL AT NORMANDY A HUMOROUS AND FUN PROGRAM

The “Ohio Rocks” musical performed by Normandy Elementary 4th graders tells Ohio’s story through music and some catchy dialogue. Under the direction of Music teacher Phyllis Reed, the musical included eight songs with “guest” appearances by Ohioans Thomas Edison, Orville and Wilbur Wright, Charles Kettering, John Glenn, Neil Armstrong, and each of the eight Ohio US Presidents. NORMANDY 4TH AND 5TH CHORUS HAVE TWO HOLIDAY PERFORMANCES

Normandy Music teacher Phyllis Reed had her teaching talents on display when 70 4th graders and 83 5th graders performed at the school’s Holiday Program for staff and students in the afternoon and for a standing room only crowd of proud parents in the evening. Fourth graders sang Winter Fantasy, We Will Not Forget, and All I Want for Christmas; while 5th graders sang Chocolate in My Stocking, and Sing We All Noel (African). The groups combined to sing Share Your Goodwill and a medley of holiday favorites. Read More
