3rd Grade Gardeners

Mrs. Terhune's class worked hard this year to fix a problem they identified in our school. They noticed that our butterfly garden needed some extra care. As part of their citizenship  project, they worked hard to improve the way it looked and cared for the plants as they began to grow in this spring. Shown in the picture are several of the many students who added mulch to finish off their project. Now, the whole Normandy community, along with the butterflies, can enjoy their garden! Special thank you Ryan Black and "Get Mulched,"  who donated the mulch! Read More

Keep Calm and Hope On!

Mrs. Harvey's 4th grade class was inspired by the thank you notes with quotes from TJ's Place of Hope from the Winter Party service project. With the help of art teacher Ms. Tavani, the class created a collage of quotes from TJ's and student created quotes, then decoupaged the art with a burst of sun rays from the "O" in HOPE. The class presented the art to Mr. Greg Crabtree of TJ's Place of Hope to be mounted at their facility. Good advice for ALL : Keep CALM and HOPE on! We are grateful to serve others in our community! Physical education teacher, Mr. Suter, planned the structured play time for students this winter because he knows how important it is to move during the day. Classes take turns using the gym, which has been divided, using a PTO purchased divider. Everyone has a great time before going back to their classrooms for continued learning. Read More
