Family Resource and Home Instruction

The attendance and family resource teacher provides support to school staff and parents in the following areas:

• Student attendance
• Residency issues
• Custody issues
• Referral to social service agencies or courts
• Home instruction coordination

Home instruction is provided for students who cannot attend school due to significant medical needs. Each case is determined on an individual basis, and home instruction is generally provided at a neutral site such as the public library, or sometimes in the child's home.

Home instruction is designed to help students stay current with assignments so they do not fall behind in their classes; it is not designed to replace classroom instruction.
