May 18th, 2011Conceptual Curriculum We are crazy about seeds! We have been reading many nonfiction books about seeds...like how seeds grow, what seeds can grow
As we've been learning about living and non-living things, we have been reading a LOT of non-fiction books! We've done a lot of investigating of these non-fiction books and have discovered a lot about them, like: they have a big, all-about title, sections or chapters, Math As we finish up Unit 9, we will be moving into Unit 10—the LAST unit of our Everyday Math program! Next we'll be investigating how to read like writers, to notice how things are written (the craft of the writing) and then to envision possibilities for their own writing from what they notice. We'll also continue doing a lot of work with beginning, middle, and end as well as problems and solutions in their writing.
We're constantly shifting children within the groups based on their progress and need. Be aware that the number of times your child meets with us may differ from week to week, and that will affect the number of books he/she will be taking home each week.
