Throughout the third quarter of the school year, Mrs. Stempson will again be working with all fifth graders on a weekly basis. The focus will be on literary devices (such as alliteration, onomatopoeia, hyperbole, etc.) as well as critical thinking skills and test question analysis. In addition, she will be working with a variety of other small groups related to literature, math, and science.

The fifth grade Knowledge Master Team has just completed their first competition. It was held on the afternoon of January 18, 2011. The team of 15 students competed against teams from all over the United States and many foreign countries. The students were challenged to answer 100 questions by collectively agreeing upon an answer and recording it electronically in less than one minute per question. Our Stingley Fifth Grade Team placed 3rd in the State of Ohio and 58th worldwide. CONGRATULATIONS KNOWLEDGE MASTER TEAM!
